We just traveled through the German Eifel region for a week and have been not as lucky with the weather as we hoped for. Instead of blue skies and sun we had a lot of cloudy days and rain. This made the photography more challenging and high dynamic range (HDR) imaging turned out to be a lifesaver in some situations. With 3 shots, each with a different exposures, I was able to create HDR images with much more details and a dramatic atmosphere as the example below illustrates. In some cases this technique couldn’t be used as it was too windy, which makes it impossible to merge 3 single exposures together to one sharp image.

After years of neglect it was about time to update this site. Some of its content will not return as it was too outdated and other things will come back step by step.
