Don Quixote in East-Westphalia

The German district of Minden-Lübbecke where we are renovating our farm is known for the Westphalian Mill Route (German: Westfälische Mühlenroute), a circular 320 kilometers long route with 43 mills.
When Don Quixote of La Mancha heard about this route he came all the way from Spain with Sancho Panza last summer to fight the Westphalian giants and I was lucky to be able to take a few photos before they left again when the winter arrived.

Prints and posters of their unique visit are available on ArtFlakes and Fine Art America. As Don Quixote didn’t have enough time to fight all 43 giants, he promised us to come back this year and we are looking forward to travel with them again.
