Hidden treasures in East-Germany

Our last photo tour took us to East-Germany. Just across the former border between East and West we started at the spring of the Unstrut river in Kefferhausen in Thuringia. From there we followed the Unstrut via Bad Langensalza, Sömmerda, Burg Wendelstein and Memleben to the nature park Saale-Unstrut-Triasland in the southern part of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.

The Unstrut and Saale rivers, dry grasslands, vineyards, fruit orchards, wild orchids, castles, monasteries, charming old villages and extensive forests, characterize the nature park Saale-Unstrut-Triasland. Although there is something to for everyone to discover and experience, this region is still fairly unknown among tourists.
